Lesson Accompanist
What does that mean?
We are happy to offer accompaniment options for vocalists and instrumental students during their private lessons, or as an additional practice time with an accompanist. This option will be available to intermediate and advanced students. New students may be offered this benefit after demonstrating their ability and understanding of practice and lesson expectations.
As we aim to align ourselves with most preparatory and conservatory settings, we want to create an environment that fosters true development of collaborating with other musicians. In order to do so, students need to understand how to properly work and communicate with an accompanist. Creating an environment in which a teacher can be more hands-on with a student and less attached to the piano helps to ensure a productive learning environment.
We offer the option of having an accompanist present for 30 minute lessons. We are happy to set this up on a weekly or monthly basis. We will do our best to accommodate a last minute decision of adding an accompanist, but scheduling for private lessons will take priority.
